A Journey of Growth, Innovation, and Community: Celebrating 8 Years of Freedom Works Ltd

Cue the confetti! Freedom Works Ltd is officially 8 years old, and wow, what a ride it’s been! From our humble beginnings as a cozy co-working space, we’ve grown into a dynamic, community-powered enterprise. These past eight years have been packed with creativity, collaboration, and some seriously exciting milestones—and we’re just getting started!

Flashback to the Beginning⚡

Picture this: It’s September 2016, and we open our doors in Worthing with just 5,000 square feet and a handful of adventurous members. Our mission? To create flexible, affordable workspaces for freelancers, creatives, and independent pros who were ready to make their mark. Simple, right?

Fast forward to September 2024, and things look a little different. We’ve grown to over 120,000 square feet and have survived everything from a global pandemic to the cost of living crisis—and we’ve even seen five Prime Ministers come and go! Despite all that, our passion for building spaces where businesses can thrive has stayed rock-solid. Now, we’re a bustling hub of ideas, networking, and serious business growth.

Our Community: The Magic Ingredient ✨

Here’s the thing: we’ve got killer facilities and business services, but it’s our amazing community that’s been the real game-changer. The freelancers, entrepreneurs, start-ups, and creatives who fill our spaces bring so much energy and passion, it’s contagious!

Over the years, we’ve seen members grow from solo ventures into full-blown businesses, while others have formed partnerships right under our roof. It’s all about teamwork, collaboration, and those “aha!” moments that happen when creative minds come together.

What We’ve Accomplished (So Far!)

The last eight years have been packed with accomplishments that we’re super proud of. Here are just a few:
  • We’ve Grown BIG! From our first little space in Worthing, we’ve expanded to 9 locations across the South of England, adding up to 120,000 square feet of flexible, affordable workspace for growing businesses.
  • Our Community Rocks: With 4,500 active members, we’re more than just desks and Wi-Fi. We’re a space where connections happen, partnerships are born, and businesses take off. We like to say, “We’re not just a roof over your head—we’re your launchpad!”
  • Business Support That Matters: We’ve teamed up with Barclays Eagle Labs to offer top-tier mentorship programs, business advice sessions, and epic networking events. We’ve hosted over 200 workshops and events to help our members learn, connect, and grow.
  • Sustainability FTW: We’re big on going green! Our eco-friendly workspaces, recycling programs, and community awareness campaigns are part of our commitment to building a sustainable future.

What’s Next?

The future? Oh, it’s looking bright! With predictions that 5 million people worldwide will be using co-working spaces by 2025, we’re ready to grow even more.
In the next two years, we plan to add another 50,000 to 75,000 square feet across the South of England. And we’re on a mission to support 10,000 freelancers and businesses in the next eight years. We’ll keep innovating, keep building sustainable workspaces, and keep the vibes fun and collaborative.
And who knows? “Onwards and upwards to being the first co-working space on the moon!” – Jon Trigg, Managing Director

A Massive Thank You

We couldn’t have done any of this without YOU—our members, collaborators, and incredible team. From our very first member (who’s still with us today—shout out!) to those who’ve just joined, we’re beyond grateful for your energy, trust, and creativity.
As we celebrate our 8th anniversary, we’re feeling all the feels—proud of how far we’ve come and excited about the adventure ahead. Here’s to the next chapter of Freedom Works Ltd: bigger, bolder, and more fun than ever!
