Richard is an accredited trainer and executive coach, and the owner and director of Define Leadership Ltd. Richard delivers targeted training and coaching to unlock leadership potential, manage professional conflict, and empower workforces across various sectors, including police, military, local authorities, health services, and prestigious learning institutions in Europe and North America. With 25 years in the Surrey and Sussex Police, he led teams investigating complex crimes and directed crime training. Richard’s practical approach to management theory fosters compassionate, ethical leadership, driving individuals and teams to excel. He is passionate about helping people develop to their full potential.

SPEAKER – Phil Ashford
Phil is an experienced and accredited business adviser with a background in both the private and public sectors, specialising in start-up business advice. He has lectured in prisons, schools, colleges and run national enterprise programmes on welfare to work contracts. Has won 3 awards for innovation in enterprise and is a board member of the National Enterprise Network. Phil has held senior positions at Panasonic UK, The Pensions Regulator, University of Brighton, and digital marketing agency Site Visibility. He is the former Director of the Business Link East Sussex Gateway, has participated in the City Skills and Employment Group in Brighton and Hove, and lectures at German universities on mentoring. Phil holds an MBA, a Diploma in Performance Coaching, is a Prince 2 Practitioner, SFEDI Accredited Business Adviser, registered Growth Accelerator coach, and PTTLS qualified.

The Business Support Programme has grant funding opportunities available for businesses. Businesses will be identified as eligible to apply, through enrolling on to the programme.
Grants are not guaranteed and will be reviewed by a separate grants panel in order to understand the best use of the funds and secure the biggest impact for the amount of funding available.
